AKA.. ANNIVERSARY AND BIRTHDAY TRIP WEEKEND.
KJ and I had an amazing time traveling to San Francisco and Napa last weekend. Although it rained every day, we had a great time site seeing and tasting different wines. Here are some of the spots we checked out in both SF and NAPA!
SF SPOTS THURS:
STAY: Parc 55 Hilton
DINNER: Nopa - we sat at the counter where we watched the chefs prepare our food. Such a cool experience, and the food was delicious! Can’t go wrong with any of the items there.
BAR: Pagan Idol - Tiki Bar, fun vibes, great drinks, island music. There are two bars - one right when you walk in, then another in the back by the DJ booth.
BAR: Trick Dog - MUST GO if you are into craft cocktails. The menu changes every six months so it is always a unique experience. They also have small bites. Great place to go to pregame or end your night. Smaller, more intimate bar, but definitely a great one to try!
SF FRIDAY:
COFFEE: Verve coffee - can’t go wrong with a great pour over. Thanks to KJ for getting me into tasty coffee rather than basic coffee with cream.. lol.
SITE SEEING:
Painted Ladies
Golden Gate Bridge - views from either Fort Point, Baker Beach, Crissy Field, Battery East. Choice is yours.
NAPA FRIDAY:
STAY: Beazley House - Cute and cozy B&B. They serve delicious breakfast every morning, and had a tasting during the evenings we were there from 6-7. I surprised KJ with a bottle of wine and bread that was served to us 10 minutes after check in. Each room is different from the other, we stayed through the garden upstairs, and would definitely stay again.
DINNER: Onetri - The food was good, but I will say we had reservations and still had to wait 35 minutes for our table. We were pretty upset with the service, but they turned it around with some complimentary dessert! Things happen!
NAPA SATURDAY:
BREAKFAST: Beazley House breakfast - two dining room tables, and a smaller table in the area. You get to mingle and meet other people staying there, we had a fun time.
Oxbow Market - Indoor area with different stands for coffee, wine, food, etc. loved it!
WINERIES:
Caymus - Industry gets complimentary tasting! We work for Wynn and Encore so we were able to redeem this offer. They also knew it was my birthday, so I received a bottle of sparking wine, a hat, and we got to keep our wine glasses! Of course we bought another bottle though.. at 25% off so why not!
Del Dotto wine tour - $75 per person for the cave tour which was well worth it. We were greeted with sparking wine, then entered the caves with our tour guide. We learned about the history, tried an abundance amount of red wines, and went back for pizza, salami and cheese!
NAPA SUNDAY:
BRUNCH: Farmstead - farther north from our B&B, but a beautiful drive. Food was delicious.. definitely try the deviled eggs!
WINERIES:
V. Sattui winery - another industry place that was a fun experience. This was one of the tastings we had at our B&B as well.
St. Supéry winery - Industry complimentary winery. We bought a bottle of Chardonnay.. you’ll know which one I’m talking about if you try it. So good.
DINNER: Bouchon - I ordered the lamb, and KJ ordered the scallops. They were both really delicious. Ended the dinner with a lemon cake for my birthday.
Despite the rain, and the traffic, we absolutely loved our trip and would definitely go back when it’s warmer out!
Hope you enjoyed our suggestions! Let me know if you go, and where you end up!
